Some things are not pleasing to God, there are seven things hates before God. Of these seven things, I found it more important. I’m talking about ‘lying‘. The scripture on which it is based, Proverbs 6:16-19
16 There are six things the Lord hates,
seven that are detestable to him:
17 haughty eyes,
a lying tongue,
hands that shed innocent blood,
18 a heart that devises wicked schemes,
feet that are quick to rush into evil,
19 a false witness who pours out lies
and a person who stirs up conflict in the community.
In this Bible verses, one thing is repeated twice. It’s about “lying” One of the 10 commandments God has given us is about “lying”
“You shall not give false testimony against your neighbor. Deuteronomy 5:20
In life, we tell everything from small lies to big lies. Let me give you a small example. The company boss immediately told the employee to come to the office immediately. Then the worker says I’m on my way to the office in 5 minutes. But the person is still in bed. A lie is a lie, whether it is a small lie or a big lie.
The closest person in my personal life told me a lie and I felt a lot of that pain. Then I forgave that person. We may sometimes lie to a person without realizing it, but the pain that person causes is great. Let us keep the words that come out of our mouths. We do not even get the blessings we deserve by lying. The Bible speaks of the punishment for lying
But the cowardly, the unbelieving, the vile, the murderers, the sexually immoral, those who practice magic arts, the idolaters and all liars—they will be consigned to the fiery lake of burning sulfur. This is the second death.” Revelation 21:8
Not all of us are perfect. We all have weaknesses. Let us apologize to God for all the lies we have told. We can apologize to the person we lied to. Let us make a decision that we will never lie again. May God bless us. Amen.
